Focus on the individual
Health consultancy and stress reduction, through psychology, mindfulness and moving meditation
Back in 1998 I came across something that changed the way I lived my life, dealt with challenges and helped me gain a new perspective. I had always been an active person, but while there were moments when I could lose myself in a flow state while exercising, there was not much in terms of mindfulness in my day to day life. I was young and the way I lived my life very much reflected that. I then came across Viniyoga and a way to focus the mind, link breath and movement and experience mindfulness. I practised and trained, gaining more insight in to breath and postural work. I started teaching, as well as working therapeutically in 2002.
I gained two diplomas through my extensive training as a yoga therapist. These diploma are through the British Wheel of Yoga (500hrs) and the Association of Yoga Studies (500hrs) and are recognised by the British Sports Council and the British Council of Yoga Therapy (BCYT).
Now, many years later, I hold a degree in psychology and have been working with a variety of people from all walks of life and from many different countries across the world, in group settings and on a 1-1 basis, always with the focus on the individual.
I offer health advice and home programmes that are specifically designed for each person. Moving away from the hustle and bustle of daily life to a calm and centred space. I am able to combine eastern and western aspects through my study of Psychology, Yoga, Ayurveda, as well as massage.
I have also in the past worked in corporate environments and I am aware of the pressures and day to day stresses of office based jobs and can offer advice in terms of creating work environments that reduce pressures, which can lead to burnout and strains on mental health in general.
